it's the 1st French Lions Club.
Lionism is established in Europe after the 2nd World war, in Sweden initially, then in Switzerland and France. Gradually, some Clubs will be born on all the territory.
103 Centre district was born in 1960-1961 ; currently, it cover seven departments : Cher, Eure-et-Loir, Indre, Indre-et-Loire, Loir-et-Cher, Loiret and Nièvre. In Indre-et-Loire (zones 31 & 32), There are 12 clubs and one Leo club.

The Lions Clubs direct many actions in the medical and social fields and also in favour of youth and culture. It takes an active part in the great international causes of the Association and brings concrete solutions to the national problems.
In order to finance their projects, the Lions of France organize very diverse events in, sport, artistic and cultural domains. The sums thus collected are transferred directly with the actions committed or lodged with two Foundations of the Lions International Club, the LCIF or the FLCF.

    The Lions created and contributed to develop:

  •  the white cane,
  •  schools of dogs guides for blind men,
  •  the association of the voice donors and sound libraries,
  •  the Center of the glaucome with the hospital of the Fifteen Twenties,
  •  Médico Lions Clubs of France (assistance in Africa and the developing countries),
  •  exchanges of young people and arts centres accomodating the young foreigners,
  •  the Summer school Lions (UDEL),
  •  cultural Prices,
  •  national actions in favour of great causes (SNSM, IRME, Donations of organs, maltreated  Childhood).
