One of the most interesting myths is the
creation of the World describes in Védas: Svayambu
(which means born itself) created cosmic water to deposit its seed there.
It comes out a gold egg which got to swim on the floods. From Egg burst
out Brahma, creator of the First Universe and each new cosmic era. Of
the two parts of broken egg, he made the Sky and the Earth. He created
also the Human beings, the Spirit, the five senses, time and its divisions.
Then, He was divided into two to give birth to the Man and the Woman.
This myth is interesting in more than one way; it is consigned in Védas which is the crowned book of the Hindus and it is written in language sanscrite which would be the original language of the Indo-Europeans whose cradle of dispersion would be partly in Ukraine. Also one appreciates all the spiritual and historical range of it. All the countries which knew the Indo-European migrations in IVème and IIIème millenia have in their legends this original myth with obviously of the local alternatives. In Ukraine, instead of the world, it is a kingdom which leaves egg. What lets suppose that at one very moved back time, there was already a hierarchical company. |

Archaeology it, informs us about the importance of
egg as of l?époque paleolithic. Indeed, as of the appearance of
the funerary rites with l?époque moustérienne (100000 front
J-C), the egg is associated there in the form of roller. At the time magdalénienne
(35000 front J-C), the genesis of humanity resulting from cosmic egg is
expressed in Venus stéatopyges (Venus with the large buttocks).
Paleolithic Venus represents the Large goddess-mother. It is the Ground-mother
of all that saw, it is protective hearth. With the Neolithic era and chalcolithic
one attends the development of agriculture and of the breeding, the use
of ceramics and metals is spread. Curiously one sees appearing in Ukraine
(culture trépillienne) and in Balkans, of the muds either in the
shape of egg, or decorated with d?oiseaux paintings and eggs. |

Object of worship related to the festivals
of vernal equinox in the oldest companies, Persan, Celtic, Roman? associated
the Easter to the Christian era, the decorated egg became a true work
d?art with the passing of years. In France, the painted egg files go up
in XIIIème century with religious topics. Under Louis XIV and Louis
XV, at the court of France, certain eggs of spring are decorated by the
largest artists with the time. The painters Watteau and Boucher initiate
themselves with this art. The tradition will be maintained in other course
royal and at the court of the tsars of Russia, the exubérance of
decoration reaches an unequalled paroxysm with the?ufs of Peter Carl Fabergé
at the XIXème century. The richness of the topics, the diversity
of the techniques represented in this international show of egg decorated
testify to perenniality with these ancestral traditions. |
